Accept a payment on a page Ionic hosts, inside your own website, through a shared link, or at a card terminal. Your application keeps the payment result connected to the order or customer it belongs to.

Start here

New to Ionic? Take your first test payment with hosted checkout. If you already know the experience you need, choose it below.

Ways to collect a payment

Hosted Checkout

Redirect to a ready-made payment page. Start here when you want the smallest integration.

Embedded Checkout

Keep the buyer on your website with an Ionic checkout inside your page.

Ionic Blocks

Design the payment page and Pay button. Ionic supplies the secure inputs.

In-person payments

Collect credit or PIN-debit payments on an assigned terminal.
For a reusable offer, use a payment link. Compare all options, or use Connect when the receiving business is a merchant on your platform.

Build on the payment

A PaymentIntent tracks the payment. A Charge records an attempt, and a Refund returns money from a completed Charge. Customers and saved payment methods can also be used for subscriptions and invoices. For custom forms, see the Blocks reference and advanced card fields. For devices, see terminal states.

  • Google Pay requires payment processing that supports it; ask Ionic support to confirm it for your account.
  • Platforms can add Apple Pay and Google Pay to one-time payments for connected merchants with the Wallet Block, once Ionic enables it for the platform’s environment.
  • Ionic Blocks collects new cards. Wallet buttons appear on hosted and embedded checkout.
  • Card payments complete without a 3-D Secure challenge. See what test mode does not simulate.
